Probate & Administration of Estates
When a person dies, their estate will need to be administered and distributed in accordance with a Will or the Rules of Intestacy, if there was no valid Will. This means that their property will have to be collected or sold, debts will have to be paid and inheritance tax will have to be accounted for to the Revenue Commissioners.
Enduring Powers of Attorney
An Enduring Power of Attorney is a document whereby you appoint another person or persons to take care of your affairs in the event that you become unable to look after your own affairs.
We take great care to ensure that each person understands and is fully aware of the consequences of executing such a document. It is important to bear in mind that an Enduring Power of Attorney only comes into effect when you become incapable of managing your own affairs. This document has absolutely no bearing on your will, they are two separate matters.
