Probate & Estate Administration
When a person dies, their estate will need to be administered and distributed in accordance with a Will or the Rules of Intestacy, if there was no valid Will. This means that their property will have to be collected or sold, debts will have to be paid and inheritance tax will have to be accounted for to the Revenue Commissioners.
In the event that a person dies without leaving a valid Will, Letters of Administration will need to be obtained by those who are eligible to be appointed as Administrators before the estate can be administered. We will help you to establish who this might be and interpret the rules of Intestacy which dictate how the estate will pass and to whom.
We are happy to tailor our services to your needs. This might mean that you would like to take advantage of our ‘Ad hoc’ advice service, which may include explaining the process of administering an estate or you may like us to take the matter out of your hands from start to finish. We will be involved in as little or as much of the process as you feel comfortable.
Before we start working for you, we will provide an estimate of costs and unless unforeseen circumstances arise, that will be the amount you will pay on completion.
There is no need to chase us for updates, we will provide you with regular updates either by phone, email or letter.
Appointments can be arranged in person or via zoom at a time that suits you.
